Description
The entry fees are $30 for the 5K run and $25 for the 2-mile walk. Online registration closes on Sept. 19. Race-day entry fees are $35 for the 5-mile run and $30 for the walk.
Donations also are encouraged. In Dons memory, proceeds go to the Don Maynard Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating Franklin County public school seniors.
Race shirts to the first 50 entrants.
The race is endorsed by the New England 65-Plus Runners Club [https://www.ne65plus.org/] and will have 5-year age groups starting with 65-69. There's a $5 discount for 5K participants who are 65 or older.
The 5K course starts on Colrain Road and loops around through the Meadows section of town, back to the starting line, taking a left onto Nashs Mill Road heading east to the bike path entrance and finishing on the bike path bridge.
Walkers will walk a 2-mile loop of the bike path.
Be sure to take a dip in the river to cool off afterward!
